“All my life, helping children has been my single goal…. With the recent mishap of Sichuan, China, I am more determined than ever to take all my life lessons, experiences, and understandings in hope to serve the children who have lost everything. I want to pick them up and provide a way for them to get back on their feet. YEO’S Scholarship will definitely bring me one step closer to my goal.”

“Looking back, I can still recall the morning when I first entered high school. Chinese operas was coiling mournfully on the stereo, as my mother and I drove silently towards school. We neared our destination when my mother finally spoke, “Do good in school,” she demanded…. She peered glaringly at me through her narrow eyes as if to sear her words into my memories. “Do good, because mommy have no money.” All I could do was smile. “I will, mommy,” I said. “I will make you proud.”
– Jessica Tran, May Winner of $500, Azle TX
“With my college dream, I came here all the way from China 2 years ago. As being a Chinese, I have made a big effort to catch up my English Skill. I am a 11th Grader now, since I don’t worry about my English skill anymore, I started worrying about my college fate, I am scared that I am not able to afford my 4-year college. Therefore I am trying really hard to get any scholarship to accomplish my 4-year college dream. If I can get the YEO’S Scholarship Award, it’s going to help me a lot, it will be a big benefactor for my future.”

“YEO’S Scholarship may help me because… I will need to buy a pad lock, time tracker, PE clothes, and anything more. The school lunches might become more pricey, and because of school budget cuts, soon our library or science lab will be over. Even maybe music, or so my older sister says. Even when my school is public, I would take the money for donation to teachers in need and for more good novels. It would be amazing if I had won the scholarship even if it’s only $100, I know I may make a difference.”

My parents and I have been saving money since I was born, but this scholarship will make my dream possible before it is too late. Help me YEO’S company, you’re my only hope.”
